Good start to a new year...I'm a Grandma! |

I thought I might update with a picture of me at my Graduation, but I didn't make it. Oh, I graduated, but didn't make the event. Not only did I have to work that day, but my daughter-in-law ended up being whisked away to a Women's hospital and a week later, my first grandbaby was born! Desiree Rose was born 8 weeks early at a healthy 4 lbs. 10 ozs. Not many days later, she was transferred back to our area and came home because she was doing so well. What a little fighter! She has needed to be because she is back in Children's hospital now with Group B Strep, but is being treated with antibiotics for the next 10 days and should be back home next weekend. What a time this has been for the whole family of this precious little child. She's a sweetheart! I believe God has got great plans for this sweet baby and the two opportunities I have had to spend time with her have been precious - it has allowed me to pray for her and to thank God for His special gift to us. I am thrilled to be a grandmother!
Work at Hospice has been going well and I have been blessed with more shifts than I expected. It is NOT great to be on call all the time as a casual, but I am grateful for God's provision.
Add to that, darts of potential change in so many areas have been hurled at me. It is a good thing I know that God has my best interest in mind and that He has a plan for my future. He is the only one I can rely on!
Well, this is short, but I am hoping I can at least update with a picture of me and my granddaughter. Such a blessed gift from God!
For those of you on Facebook who have kept up with the happenings recently, I have appreciated your prayer support and encouragement!

What an angel. :) My sweet friend, you ARE truly blessed. I bet this little gal becomes your very best friend.. for life. Treasure your time with her.

What a blessing and answer to our prayers...
You are a beautiful grandma...and she is a beautiful gift... You both can truly rely on God...I know I sure need to.

Hi Juanita , It was so neat to see you the other day at Talking Donkey....nice place! Hope all is going well with little Desiree Rose...she is cute on the photo, but so little.
