MEETING THE CHALLENGING … and moving forward. |
|
 |
I am sitting in Frankenmuth MI as I write this. My week at university was interesting and challenging. More of a challenge than I thought it would be. Food selections were not the best and I was limited with my choices. I made some good choice … and I made some not so good choices.
I was however pleasantly surprised when I stepped on the scales Monday morning. Up 1.2 pounds. That’s all?? Are you sure??
Past experiences has resulted in up to 10 and 15 pound gains in one week away. I’ll take a 1.2 pound gain and consider that a victory.
So now I am on a father/daughter trip to Frankenmuth. For those that read my daily journal you can read more about that.
I have signed up for another two months on the Bernstein Program. That will take me to the end of October and just in time for me to head out on my Florida Adventure and cruise. I certainly hope to be on maintenance by then.
I thought I had just posted my monthly update picture. It seems that a month has slipped by before I knew it. If I am able to post the picture today it is of my daughter and I standing in front the the Bavarian Restaurant in Frankenmuth.
Wishing you all a great week. Coming to you from the Merv Herzog Hotel in beautiful downtown Frankenmuth, MI.
“If HUNGER is not the problem, then FOOD is not the solution.”
Till next week …

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Peggy-149 from New York on Aug 31, 2010 whoa!!!!!! You said a slight gain! LOL If you noticed I posted to you (must be right before you put this up) and I said it would be a LITTLE blip on your graph! I wasn't expecting a spike! As Sarah said, admin will correct it but it is kind of funny!!! Only because it's you and we all know that you aren't going to have those 10-15 lb gains anymore, right? And you say, RIGHT! right? (no not left!) Get in some R&R! You are retired, you know! Peggy

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Shirley-261 from Tennessee on Aug 31, 2010 Still waiting for Admin to correct this... I relate so well to how easy it is to write that 3 at the beginning of your weight... it just come natural because we've both been there for so long in our lives. But the number now is 2. :) And hopefuly 1 very soon. I hope you never see 3 again Karsty and I have the feeling you won't. :)

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Theresa-333 from California on Aug 31, 2010 What a superb picture, Karsten! And many, many congrats on your "slight" weight gain. It surely is an accomplishment!! The timeline with your program seems to fit in perfectly with your plans. You will be down from the 300s and 200s, and into the 100s before we know it. Well done!!

Posted by fellow HealthSteward John-331 from California on Aug 31, 2010 My gain was a little more than 1.2, but we shall overcome!!!!

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Mary-84 from California on Sep 2, 2010 Karsten, that's a great photo of you and your daughter. It's easy to see that the weight posted is the correct weight though and not the one below your post. You are so slender and flat tummied! Looking great Karsten! Much love, Mary

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Peggy-149 from New York on Sep 4, 2010 That's more like it....... Your graph now has just the little blip I was talking about. Now next week, fix your stats and you'll be all set. I, too, like this picture. Your daughter must be so proud of you. For her, it's like having you 'back', able to do things with her and what better gift could you ever give her. Next update.... you won't have an official weigh in, right? because of the holiday. But I know you've already lost what you gained so all is good. Back on track before you were totally derailed. lol Enjoy the long weekend. Peggy

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Dave-40 from ON, Canada on Sep 5, 2010 I missed this update! How could that happen??
I began to notice that you were looking pretty dapper in your mug shots. scattered over this site in the forum etc.
I do like that picture, Karsten. I think that trip will dwell in your memory as a fond, happy time - and, I'm sure, in your daughter's...
Some day, we might actually meet, your daughter & I. I've heard you talk about her, etc. that it almost seems I know her already! :-)
This is almost a week late, so hope your new update shows you back among the weight-losers!
And me too..... - Dave
