The Scale Lies

jump to bottom

This past month I was getting discouraged. I had been right on track with my goals and I was not losing.  When I got on the scale is said the same weight  and some days it was up a few pounds.  I increased my exercise and adjusted my eating to more veggies and less fatty foods. That scale wouldn't go down I was getting crabby about it.  One day I was in my friend's bathroom and hoped on her scale, it told me I weighed less.  I went to Wal Mart and hopped on 5 of their scales and 4 of them gave me the same weight. So I'm pleased to say I did lose weight this month. I bought a new scale

I have had to make some adjustments this month because of  a chronic disease. I am giving away my exercise bike and I can swim in pools. Thankfully there is lots of exercise I can still do  which walking and hiking are my favorites.

Great loss!
Hey Linda,  What a wonderful loss to update with.  Even if it is different scales, it's going forward from here, right?  I love how you find the positive in your situation and wish we could go hiking together. That would be fun!  Love, Peggy ♥

I'm glad you got new scales, and I hope they'll be more consistent!

I would buy a new scales every week, if that would work for me! :-)

But, I weigh at the local hospital, where my own family doctor leaned on the admin. to put in a good digital scales that handles even folks my size. I don't have to worry about consistency on it - I just gotta get over to it...

I hope you have the revs now to carry on and have another great week! - Dave

Yea Linda, I am so happy for you! What great news! You are two pounds away from your goal. You are so disciplined that I really think you will handle maintenance well. Thank goodness you can still exercise and I'm with you, walking is my favorite too. Have a great week and let us know as soon as you cross the goal line!  Much love, Mary

Hi Linda,   We have been very busy so we have not connected yet.   I am coming into Kelowna on Monday Sept. 7 and maybe we can get to see each other.  Give me a phone call if you are interested and not too sick.  I 'll see if I still have your no. and can reach you.  Have a good day and glad you could get a scale that's more accurate!  Love, Vi

Linda, congratulations on being so close to your goal! I liked your story of getting crabby and going out to get a new scale. I also have been encouraged to swim to build my muscles and reduce the stress on my joints, and it has been really enjoyable, except for getting into the water- sometimes it's cold at the swim center! Keep up the good work!
