Well continuing to make progress, gotta keep working on portion control. Success in my commitment to no after dinner snacking last week, (except Sunday) This week I hope to work on portion size.
Thanks to fellow members for the kind words, I will return the favor as soon as I get the rest of this site figured out.

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Tim-215 from Ohio on Feb 25, 2008 Excellent! One thing that helps me a lot on guessing portion sizes is that a protein portion is the size of my palm, a a vegetable portion is the size of my fist, and anything else is about like half a tennis ball.

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Tina-86 from Indiana on Feb 25, 2008 Congrats Jim, you left the 4's and will never be there again!! Just keep on one good decision after another, and one good day after another and it soon will become easier and more like 'habit' than such a great effort. Have another great week -- you CAN do it! :o) ~Tina

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Dawn-276 from Indiana on Feb 25, 2008 Jim, Great going! I think posting to others is helpful. The easiest way is to click on the picture of someone who has posted to you. Read their update. Click on the encouragement bar. Write something encouraging in the narrative section. Then, chek the box and click on the submit post. After a few seconds you will see the persons update. Scroll down and you will see what you wrote to them. Just one or two a week until you get a hang of it. I also like to go into the forum section of the lounge to get tidbits of info. Tues. is a conf. call look in the forum and you can find out how you can be a part of it. Or later, you can listen to it because it will be recorded.
I hope that helps. Have a good week and enjoy the site. Dawn

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Mary-104 from Minnesota on Feb 26, 2008 I hear ya, Jim, portion control is my big issue too. Advance planning is the key--and an intake/output program like Fitday (it's free online, fitday.com) can help you track all of it. Have a great week!

Looking forward to reading more of your updates in the near future. God Bless, Marlies
