chocolate covered bacon wrapped oreos |
|
 |
Hi Everyone..
OMG.. On the news they're doing a segment on one of the local fairs.... They're previewing the food. (what else?) they just showed chocolate covered bacon wrapped oreos... I ate a lot of junk in my days..... but man, oh, man.... That sounds disgusting....
OK, so on to my week... It was my first week back to work. My weight loss is not good, and it's frustrating.... my plan was the EXACT same as it was during my vacation where I did really good on my weight loss..
So I'm frustrated...I WANT to scream out "I stayed on plan, I stayed on plan!!"..... but.... if you stay on plan, and you aren't really losing..... well.... I guess I need to reevaluate my plan.. (makes sense to me!)
Here's my evaluation.
I need to up my exercise... My body is getting stronger... I can do more... so I need to push more to get a better workout.... This is a problem with my knees, but I can push it more with the tredmil and eliptical trainer... I can add those to my walking.. They are easier on my knees than walking..
I don't know how to fix my eating... I'm eating next to no sweets... I'm eating very small meals... I just don't know.. I'm going to have to think about that...
and my last evaluation... give myself a break.. it's my first week back, and my ankles are swollen, and my arthritis is flaring... hopefully it'll get better... I hope...
So that's all for now.... :) I hope everyone has a good day.

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Theresa-333 from California on Sep 3, 2010 I actually consider 1 pound a good loss, Cathy. I can never figure out why other people don't, since it takes a LOT of hard work and effort to lose that 1 pound. Even with myself, though I lost big amounts right away in the beginning, I've been losing less and less all the time, sometimes as little as 2/10 of a pound a week. I actually consider any loss a "good" loss, and am grateful for it. I've even sometimes had some small weight gains, and just think that's alright, and to be expected from time to time. But does make any weight loss seem all the better too! Overall, the weight loss over time is what is best, in my mind. And I actually have appreciated losing that way over the course of the past few months. Then again, I have to say I am losing more now, though, because I added in some cardio workouts that burn a lot more calories than I had been beforehand. That has made a pretty big difference. So you would probably like to benefit from that yourself. I do think that's a good idea. I hope to hear soon how you're doing with that. :-)

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Irene-277 from Michigan on Sep 3, 2010 a pound gone IS a pound down. Good going Cathy! I've been hearing more & more about bacon covering weird foods - even insects. Guess it's all in the taste - which if you slather enough stuff on them, you'll have lots of calories along w/ the protein filled insect.

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Julia-342 from Washington on Sep 5, 2010 hang in there! Dear Cathy: Make sure and add some variety to your meals, too. It's a big deal to return to work, and you may have to up your exercise if you have a job that involves a lot of sitting and not moving. Try getting in the pool if you can if your arthritis flares up, it really helps. Have a good week, and remember, we are rooting for you!

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Brenda-159 from California on Sep 5, 2010 Those disgusting foods were at the OC Fair and people were buying them like crazy!!! Just plain insanity. I have become much more mindful of the foods that we eat. When you begin to eat healthy and become food concious you become aware of just how disgusting the foods we eat truly are. Keep up the great work Cathy! Its paying off!!!
