Thanksgiving Victory |
|
 |
I'm so thankful for many, many, things - God, family, friends, employment...... This year I'm especially thankful for the grace to enjoy the day without over-eating. As I wrote in my last post, I have been very concerned about the holidays and all the food - especially the sweets. I had a great Thanksgiving without the pecan pie! Such Grace! I know that it is only the beginning of the holiday season, but I also know that I can lean on HIM for the strength to conquer the over-eating.
Only a half pound down - but still a loss.
Blessings to all of you. Lois

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Kathy-227 from Arkansas on Nov 25, 2007 Way to go! That's awesome how you experienced God's grace last week!
Despite many years of routinely gaining 7-10 lbs. each holiday season, last year God gave me the grace not to have a single gain over the entire season. He'll do it for both of us this year, if we really want him to! Let's go for it!!

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Judy-220 from California on Nov 26, 2007 Lois, My Friend . . . . Congratulations on making it through the 1st or is it the 2nd holiday of the winter (let's eat everything in sight) . . . I guess Halloween is the 1st. I worked both days for Thanksgiving so even though all those goodies were in place - I didn't eat any . . . and since I don't have family to cook for . . . I don't have anything to bake or cook with in my kitchen . . . it's still shakes for my protein with fruits & veggies and nuts & seeds for my intake. I'm planning on going through my kitchen and boxing up a lot of cookware and any receipe book that doesn't have a calorie count attached to each receipe is going to be donated to anyone at work who wants it.
And I haven't baked and cooked my way through the holidays in a long time . . . so I don't have to feel guilty by stuffing my fellow employees with calories that they don't need . . . ;)
Great job on passing over the majority of not so great food choices . . . Have a great week . . . .
Hugs ~ Judy
