Well I guess no gain is good. I was up for much of the week, I blame high salt soup, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I have more energy on the bike these days so I'm getting back in the groove. I saw a sit down elliptical trainer on Fox and Friends this morning. Its the first one on the market. Works like my bike by working the arms and legs but no stress on the knees. It may be an option for some of you.
My father went into hospice this week so I ask for prayers. He has lung cancer. He's in good spirits and says that he doesn't have pain, but he is an ole Navy man so he's tough.
Hopefully I break the 270 barrier next week. Have a great week all.
Jeff

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Robin-106 from Virginia on Jan 25, 2009 Really sorry to hear about your dad. (Side piece of info: I'm a hospice volunteer now)
Soup.. I make my own and don't add any salt. I grew up with, and continued until maybe a year ago, putting onion salt on just about everything.. but especially a bowl of soup. I really can't see where it's helped me much, I have fluid retention anyway, but They say to not do it, so I don't anymore.
Keep on.. keeping on. You're doing well!

Posted by fellow HealthSteward Dave-40 from ON, Canada on Jan 25, 2009 Hey, Jeff. Sorry to hear about your Dad's struggle... so many people I know are affected by cancer right now...
I hope you get rid of the salty soups - the way those need to handled is to carefully pour them - out about a foot in front of ya! :-) There's almost no nutrition in them, and what little they give the body needs that & more to cope with the poison the pour into the system... just mt tale on the handy soups.
Here's to a great week, comin' up! - Dave

Hang in there with doing the right thing in terms of diet and exercise. If we are consistent, we DO see progress. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but overall in the right direction.
