Well, I'm really thankful for this week's loss.
I confess to eating my way through some nasty cigarette cravings. Yep I finally quit. Thursday was my quit day. Cold turkey and alot of praying. Its getting harder instead of easier for some reason. The first 48 hours were the easiest. But I know I don't want to start  over with that withdrawl again. So, I'm not giving in. I just don;t want to go crazy with food either. But this is tough!
I got some sugar free hard candy that helps some. Id appreciate prayers on this. I'd rather go without food than cigarettes if I'm totally honest. But I know it will get easier
Ya'll have a wonderful week and God bless you all!

Good for you!

I know it's very hard to quit smoking--my husband has done it 5 times! But his brother only had to do it once!!

'LORD, GIVE CHAR STRENGTH!!!" And congrats on a great weight loss!!

Char, I will pray that getting off ciggs.  will get much easier and that some day the urge to smoke will be completely gone. I never smoked or drank alcohol and many times I have counted my blessings about that. Food was my vice and I failed so many times trying to change my eating habits that I know I would have had a hard time giving up the other things. My hubby, Don quit smoking 44 years ago. Six years later he married his first wife, who was a heavy smoker. He never did start smoking again, even though he was living with someone who smoked. Just be encouraged and know that you can do it too! Stay in touch, I'll be anxious to know how you are getting along. I truly admire you for really going all out to improve your health! Love, Mary

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that some of us HS's are gathering at Forman Park in Putneyville, NY by Lake Ontario on Saturday July 26, 2008. If this gathering in anyway fits in your schedule, we'd be glad to see you there. Contact Melanie - 264 or Karsten - 53 for details. Keep adding the good habits and losing the bad Char!  I do so enjoy reading the encouragement notes you give us.  I hope it works out for you to attend this gathering.
