The past year and a half has been really tough on me in the stress department. I have watched as things and relationships around me have fallen apart. My work has suffered, my home (house cleaning) has suffered and my health has suffered. On Sunday morning I stepped on the scales and they read 220.

Last week, I was on Facebook and a lady that I know from a previous church had started Body For Life. Tim had spoken highly of it and I was very interested on how she would do. Then a few days later, I was in a department store when I saw the book, “Body For Life Champions”. It was on sale for $7.99 and I knew that I had to buy it.

I read of so many success stories and I wanted success. I wanted it bad. I knew that I had to get a quality protein shake and bar. BFL talks about EAS and I found that I could get it in Canada but the nearest store was an over 2 ½ hour drive away. I thought, when I go to Niagara Falls to see my Mom I could get those products there. That day, however, Richard had a wedding to perform in North Bay. We stopped to go shopping at the mall there and I saw a GNC store. I didn’t know that there was one in North Bay (an hour drive). I bought the book Body for Life Women and my EAS shakes and bars.

This past Monday, I began. Richard is away this week so it was much easier for me to start now. For me “Healthy Eating + Exercise = Weight Loss Success”. Duh, I know that you have been telling me that for a long time.

I have stayed on track with eating and exercise. The hard part will be for me start the end of next week. Richard and I direct 4 weeks of Retirees Retreat where the food is second to none. I am already planning my food and exercise while I am away.

I travel so much that getting exercise in has been difficult with my past ways of doing it. I am not getting pro-active and am planning in advance for times such as these.

Thank you Peggy, Melodie and Shirley for your continued love and support. Shirley, I did tell you that I would be back and here I am.

Have a great week in weight loss everyone.

Blessings,

Barb

Hi Barb, good to see you.  I haven't been around as consistently as I need to be either.  Traveling is also challenging for me in both the eating area and exercise area.  But there must be a way.  Others have done it so we can too.

Have a good week!

I really hope your new found method works for you, Barb. It's so helpful to have a program to lean on during stressful times.

Good for you!  The shakes and bars are tasty, though the real message of it is:

1. Healthy eating to create a nice caloric deficit
2. Move, move move.

Sort of like a lot of other plans, huh :)

The other distinctive is:

3.  Set a competely unbelievable goal for your success, make a great plan, and go for it.

Sort of like our own dr.nick!

Hi Barb!!! How are you? I hope good. I remember when I worked at Barnes and Noble during my college days. That book was a huge seller!! I consider it a quality program and I think you'll have a great deal of success on it. :) I hope you do very good and I look forward to seeing your continued success!!

You can do it, Barb!

It's so, so good to see you here again, Barb! And it's also very nice to hear the excitement in your voice. I'm glad you started something that's encouraging to you. And I hope we can all be an encouragement to you as well. :-)
